Learning How To Operate Your Digital or Getting Qualified Help Is Hard To Do

Every model of digital cameras is unique. Even within a single manufacture they can have completely different menu layouts. Nikon DSLR cameras have one style of menu while their point-and-shoot cameras have a different menu. Even the Nikon 1 is different than any other Nikon camera though it got its start with point-and-shoot menus.

I say this because trying to help someone to operate their digital camera can be as difficult for the advanced user as for the beginner. You just have to get out the manual and go for it. For someone using a camera for the first time the experience for the beginner or the experienced person will be the same. The only difference is the more experienced user may learn how to use a camera quicker than the beginner but then again maybe they won’t.

The important lesson is to take the camera AND the manual out and take pictures over and over. It you have a problem then you have the manual at the ready. Even experienced users like myself have to refer to the camera manual to figure out how to do something. I have my camera’s manual in the camera bag at all times.

Get help only AFTER you have used the camera and have some experience with it. You will now have a set of questions that when answered will advance your knowledge and greatly speed up your proficiency with the camera.

August Meeting

I will continue to show one or two youtube videos at the beginning of the meeting. Maybe more slideshows? Anyone have some travel or family pictures to share? How about photos of children?

PS: You have any ideas?
